Lifeguarding Course:

This course provides entry-level participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS arrive and take over. Must bring swim suit, towel and course materials as well as attend every class to pass course. 

Successful completion results in a 2-year certification in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid. 


  • Must be at least 15 years old and pass swimming requirements; 300-yard swim, retrieve a 10-pound brick from 9 feet of water and tread water for two minutes with no hands. 

Course length:

  • Lifeguarding: Traditional in-person course
    format 25+ hours.

Lifeguarding Review Course:

The Review course is designed to review the lifeguarding skills and core knowledge points required to recertify in lifeguarding.


  • Current Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certificate or expired within 90 days

Topics include:

Injury prevention and facility safety
Patron surveillance

Rescue skills

Victim assessment
First Aid

Care for head, neck and spinal injuries

This is a re-certification class, you must hold a current Lifeguard certificate from the Red Cross or expired within 3 months.
